Acknowledgement of Indigenous Lands: The BCAS acknowledges that the land on which we meet is within the Traditional territory of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations where indigenous peoples have lived since time immemorial.

Statement of Inclusivity: The BCAS is responsible for fostering a public forum within its community to facilitate communications and services that diverse groups identify as respectful, inclusive and accessible.

The meeting was called to order at 18.34 pm.

Adoption of Agenda: Unanimous

Adoption of AGM Minutes of 15 May 2024  Unanimous.

Treasurer’s Report prepared by  Susan Derasp ( attached)

Jamie explained that the ACRD now requires applications to receive GIA funding and Community Affairs has applied.

Chair’s Report – Jamie Willock ( attached)

Tom Jensen commented that Community Affairs has the role of coordinating the dissemination of information and used the Sewage Referendum as an example of how Jamie had made the issue understandable to the community and had sent questions from the community directly to ACRD.

Jamie added that the Moorage situation in Bamfield was discussed at a special meeting in 2024.

Tom thanked Jamie for his great leadership as the Chair of BCAS.

Nominations

There are currently eight Board members as two left the Board during 2024 ( Clay Steell and Glen Ballman)  and Jaleen Rousseau  has recently resigned. Jamie stated that the rest of the Board  were all willing to continue and that one new nomination had been received : Ilan Perez.  A total of eleven Board Members is possible.

Two directors stepped down after their two year term and are willing to stand for re-election: Jamie Willock and Stella Wenstob. As there is  only one other nomination, no elections were necessary, and these two will continue to serve on the Board for a further two years.

The 2025-2026  Board members are: Jamie Willock, , Stella Wenstob , Julie Bradley, Bob Schmitt, Ben West, Tom Jensen, Susan Derasp, Jan Teversham. Ilan will confirm his acceptance . Executive positions will be confirmed at the Board meeting next week.

The AGM was adjourned at 18.57 m/TJensen s/BSills
