Nominations

There were eight Board members prior to the meeting. Two are in the middle of their 2 year tenure (Jamie Willock and Stella Wenstob), while the remaining six (Susan Derasp, Tom Jensen, Ben West, Julie Bradley, Bob Schmitt and Jan Teversham) were all willing to continue to serve on the Board.

Three new nominations had been received prior to the meeting: Reid Yochim, Abigail Andiel and Shannon Mendt. Two attended the meeting and have been unanimously accepted onto the Board: Reid Yochim and Abigail Andiel.

Reid moved to Bamfield in 2021 and now owns a house on the west side while his business is based on the east side. He also works on the water treatment maintenance, is a First Responder and a Fire Department trainer. He wants to be active in the community as development occurs in Bamfield

Abi came to Bamfield almost three years ago to take up a position with HFN in the Fisheries Department. She is training to be a First Responder and works on the New Bamfielder production. Her singing voice is very much appreciated. She brings a different perspective to the Board as a young person and a renter and sees Bamfield as a special community that she is pleased to be part of.

The 2026-2027 Board members are now therefore:  Jamie Willock, Stella Wenstob, Julie Bradley, Bob Schmitt, Ben West, Tom Jensen, Susan Derasp, Jan Teversham, Reid Yochim and Abigail Andiel. The third person nominated, Shannon Mendt,  can join at a later date if they are willing as the maximum number of Board Members is set at eleven. Executive positions will be confirmed at the Board meeting next week.

The AGM was adjourned at 18.57 m/TJensen s/BSills

A general meeting immediately followed.
