  • When distributing information from ACRD, what are the best means of ensuring the Bamfield community receives information?  Please provide Bob with an appropriate and current list of contacts for distributing info.

Cell and Pay Phone Situation

  • As a result of recent meeting with Telus, staff are working on technical solutions to improving the current strength of cell service and will be providing a report outlining current cell coverage status and possible solutions to improve coverage.
  • With respect to our current pay phone situation, they are considering providing a pay phone on the west side by the store, with the stipulation that Bamfield would pay a monthly line fee for the service. I have indicated that their proposal was unreasonable given their corporate monopoly and social/community responsibility especially considering accessing 911 services. Bob will continue dialogue with Telus regarding this matter.
