Minutes of 20th May 2014 – Received.

Treasurer’s Report- Rae Hopkins for Stefan Ochman: $750.69 in Coastal Community Credit Union chequing account, $5.00 member equity, $19,706.39 CCCU High Interest Savings ($16.72 interest). Received.

Regional Representative’s Report- N/A. Alternate-Linda Myres: Official Community Plan review with ACRD at Fire Hall Thursday the 26th June @ 7:00pm.

Bamfield Community Hall Society- Rose Janelle: July 1st Celebrations. Parade, hot dogs, games, baseball, music, pig roast! Canada Day Meet at Fire Hall at 10:30AM to organize parade, parade to Centennial Park, 12:00 singing of O Canada followed by serving of hot dogs, kids games, baseball, music, Celebration of Seabeam Fishing Lodge’s 65th Anniversary celebration pig roast 3:00pm-5:00pm at Centennial Park. FREE! Everyone Welcome!

Bamfield Chamber of Commerce- Phil Lavoie: 8,500 Bamfield Brochures printed; 3,500 on the ferry routes, in Bamfield and around province.

Bamfield Community School- Kristin Russell: There is no news on the negotiations between the provincial government and the BC Teachers’ Union. -Kristin has received the good news that she will be the teacher here in Bamfield in the fall.

Emergency Preparedness- Linda Myres: The three winners of the Emergency Week Questionnaire were Judy Wurtzke, Diana Bartach and Rose Janelle. Congratulations!

BVFD Auxiliary- Janice Pierce: Stage 1 of the cement project is complete. It came in under budget and a cheque for $19,950.00 was issued to Robbins Construction. Stage 2 is ready to go forward.

Huu-ay-aht First Nation- Charlie Clappis: Saturday the 21st of June is Aboriginal Day. Wellness is the theme with a big beach walk on Pachena Beach starting at 11:00am followed with barbecued salmon lunch. Everyone is welcome.

Bamfield Centennial Park- Lisa Herbig: The Information Office is officially open 2 days a week and Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tracy is the summer student employee who will begin the 23rd of June.

Bamfield Community School Association- Catherine Thompson: June 18th –Community Lunch to celebrate the End of the Year. Noon. $5.00 Italian food. Followed by a few games for the kids out in the field. Please RVSP by the 17th June. –Fun Day scheduled for 25th June has been cancelled for a variety of reasons. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask Catherine. -July 4th – Car Wash Fundraiser. 3pm-6pm $ will support the summer camps. –Last Toastmasters before we wrap up for the summer is June 23rd. –You have until 18th July to enter photos in the My Community Photo Contest. $2.00 per entry, the community will choose the winner who will receive a digital camera. This year’s photo contest is in memory of Syd Baker. –Short Story and Poetry Competition has begun. Last day to submit entries is 22nd August.Oysters, Authors and Ale20th September. Any ideas or if you want to help with planning or you are interested in reading something you have written please contact the office. We are still looking for musicians for the evening. –Stay tuned for Outdoor Movies in July and August. -Yoga Every Wednesday 5:15 (except June 25th) in the apartment above TnT [The Market Café]. There will be a few beach yogas scheduled for July. Karma yoga by donation.

Music by the Sea- Suzanne Jennings: Reduced rate ticket for Bamfield residents if you purchase your tickets before 1st of July. -Host families receive one free ticket. –Host families should expect their guests 3rd of July. –There are opportunities for volunteers. Bamfield Volunteer Fire Department- Phil Lavoie: BVFD Syd Baker Memorial Golf Tournament 12th of July. Tee-off 8:30am. Barbecue and dance later in the day. –Fish Derby will be held the long weekend in August (2nd -4th August).

New Business Janice Pierce (BVFD Auxiliary) will be presenting Grants in Aid request at September meeting. Week prior to meeting the application will be posted for public viewing.
